Fishing Alaska In June
The Kenai River runs low and clear as the first run of king salmon swims through. You’ll find less competition for the fish and more peaceful outings, as the tourist season doesn’t pick up until later.
The Kasilof River has its most successful season in this time frame. If you’re after a scenic drift boat adventure down a pristine river filled with fishing action all the way down, then this is for you.
Halibut is another great option, with three locations to choose from. Wherever you want to fish, Jimmie Jack Fishing is there. We launch from Ninilchik straight into Cook Inlet for a faster halibut trip full of arm-pumping action without the long travel time. Seward offers spectacular views on their halibut/rockfish combo. And fishing out of Homer will get you an adventure combo trip for halibut and either salmon or rockfish, whichever is currently offering the best fishing.
