Jimmie Jack Drath

Jimmie Jack grew up on the Kenai river. He began running the river on his own when he was just 13. "I am just love being a river guide. The Kenai River is a special fishery. I love it!" Jimmie Jack was a world class pole vaulter and competed at the 1996 U.S. Olympic Trials. Lately, Jimmie Jack has been featured on Larry Csonka's North to Alaska show, a recent CELLULAR ONE commercial, and many Kenai and Kasilof fishing reports on KTUU in Alaska. Currently, his passions are fishing and Christian missions. He is currently attending the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry in preparation for more winter missions trips to Latin America and Africa. "I am so blessed. God has allowed me to live life to the full. I get to be a fishing guide on the awesome Kenai River in the summer, and then I get to bless others who are less fortunate in the winter. Praise the Lord!"

Big Jim Drath

Big Jim is Jimmie Jack's dad. Big Jim has been fishing the Kenai River for over 25 years. When he retired from his career in security on the Alaska Pipeline, he found out that his son, Jimmie Jack had painted his boat red. Jimmie wanted his dad to join him as a fishing guide on the Kenai River, and they have been having a blast ever since. Big Jim knows the Kenai River well, and how to pull out the big kings. As he puts it, "This is where I live, this is my house." Jimmie Jack says that his dad has the HOT plugs. "Shoot, he has more awesome plugs than any of us other guides combined. We try and take them, but he sleeps with them under his pillow."

Terry Harling

Terry has been coming to Alaska for years to fish the Kenai with Jimmie Jack. They have been long time friends. He and his wife Karla, their daughter, Erica, and sons, Tay and Blaine have stirred up quite a passion in their hearts for Alaska fishing. They are currently building on their property on the Kasilof River, and have decided to make Alaska their home. If Terry is your fishing guide, it won't be long before you have a fish on. This guy is not only a top Kenai River guide, he is a scholar of Kenai salmon fishing. He has found their number, and knows where they live. Terry loves getting up every morning to take guests fishing.

Dave "Catdaddy" Drake

Catdaddy ran into Jimmie Jack on the mission field in Bolivia. He says, "Jimmie and I were laying brick on this church wall in Cochabamba, Bolivia and I asked him if he needed another fishing guide. Jimmie said he did, and I was so excited that I did not even talk to him for a whole day. All I do is fish and hunt. This is a dream of mine that God has blessed me with. Wow, more than I can even ask or imagine! Being a Kenai River fishing guide is a dream come true. Thank you Jesus! Even if nobody is catching fish, we will still catch fish, and even limit! I believe in miracles!"

Jason Day

Our chef, Jason, studied Culinary Arts at the Art Institute of Dallas. He is currently attending the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry with Jimmie Jack. Jason is an excellent chef and enjoys preparing Alaskan dishes. He is a connoisseur of great coffee so your mornings will be special. At dinner he may even serenade guests with a guitar solo, and an encouraging word. Jimmie Jack says, "This guy is so incredibly conscientious and detailed that I should let him help me cure the bait!"
