Jimmie Jack's Lodge is one of Alaska's premier sport fishing lodges.  We are located in Kenai, Alaska on Cook Inlet near the World Famous Kenai River.  The Kenai River is Alaska's greatest river for huge trophy King Salmon, Silver Salmon, and Rainbow Trout.  This river drains out of Kenai Lake, and flows 82 miles to Cook Inlet.  We are located 150 miles from Anchorage on the road system near the cities of Kenai and Soldotna.

About Jimmie Jack's Culture
We operate in a culture of honor here at Jimmie Jack's. We give excellence to our guests as we learn excellence through working with each other. We run 6 power boats, and 2 drift boats on the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers.  We also have the opportunity to go on Halibut and Fly-in fishing trips. This gives our employees and subcontractors the opportunity to enjoy what we do best, FISHING!   Everyone is encouraged to fish on their time off.  Our employees operate and maintain the facilities and equipment to assure our guests are completely satisfied.  We accommodate 12 guests per week and each guest stays 6-7 days.  Our changeover day is Sunday.

Our employees' professionalism and friendliness justifies us in stating that we are a true world class fishing lodge.  Why not join our team?  All Alaska Fishing Jobs are not created equal.  We can provide you a pleasant and very enjoyable alternative to traditional seasonal Alaska jobs.  We are usually hiring for some positions.  Since many of our employees return each year, all positions are not available, but we are always looking for a few honorable, friendly people with a commitment to our guests.  We are looking for employees who value smart work and the attention to detail which allows us at Jimmie Jack's Lodge to set the standard by which other lodges strive.

Team Positions

This position includes cleaning guest rooms, laundry, and serving guest meals.  This position also includes some outside cleaning and gardening. The day starts at 5:00am with room wake-up service, breakfast serving and cleanup from 8:00am to 9:00am.  After the guests leave for fishing trips, the mid-morning room cleanup and laundry starts.  You have free time during the afternoon.  Purchasing for meals will be done on some afternoons. The exact times are assigned at the lodge.  These positions require someone who is friendly, a self starter, cordial, well groomed. These positions are full season (4 month) jobs, from May 15 to Sept 20 (approx.)

The Chef must have an extensive background in a wide variety of food preparation.  The Chef is responsible for all food purchasing, inventory and cost control.  Chef will be responsible for maintaining an organized and clean kitchen and dining area at all times.   Breakfast is served sit down dining style, and lunch is given as a sack lunch.  Breakfast and lunch will be served ro all guests and all on-site employees daily. Breakfast is made and lunches are packed in the morning.  The Chef must be a well-groomed person who can mix in a friendly manner with our guests. We require our Chef to provide outstanding meals, and maintain a budget.

The candidate for this position will fulfill the following requirements: a self-starter, organized, friendly, well groomed, high stamina, quick to learn, excellent phone presence, punctual, and coachable. The ideal candidate for this position can possess the following skills: sales experience; computer literacy including: Quickbooks, Word, PDF, reservation software, Twitter, Facebook, and Email; office/secretarial excellence. The candidate will be willing to do anything to help the team: boat cleaning, fish cleaning, painting, purchasing, and even taking out the trash! The candidate will learn how to manage a small hospitality business.

The Jimmie Jack Fishing Co. hires only the best professionals in the business.  We pay a premium salary for experienced, seasoned guides.  A person who can present themselves in a professional manner, prove to us they can be helpful and communicate with our guests by passing on their fishing skills.  Our guides must have a U.S. Coast Guard 6-pak license or Remote Waters of Western Alaska license, and be willing to pass the one week Kenai River Guide Academy.  Our guides accompany 4 guests each day. Guides must be an expert in fishing, and boat handling on rivers. Most importantly, our guides must be coachable. This is a 7 day a week job with a duty time of 10 to 12 hours a day.  We do offer a day off each week.  Our experienced river guides must have river boat experience.  We use 20' Willie Boats with 50hp Yamaha outboards. We also operate 20' Willie Drift boats.
Hiring Details
·        Jimmie Jack's Lodge furnishes your food and housing.  All employees are housed in single rooms or shared rooms.  Our on-site staff is fed breakfast and lunch, and dinners are on your own. You may use the camp kitchen and lodge food for dinner meals.
·        Season starts around May 15, and ends around September 20. 
·        Jimmie Jack's Lodge is a non-smoking lodge.  Jimmie Jack's Lodge is a drug free lodge operation.  All river guides are required to submit to random drug testing.  All other personnel must be drug free and be willing to be drug tested upon request.
·        Jimmie Jack's Lodge does not allow our staff to have or keep any pets.
