Jimmie Jack's Kenai River Fishing Report
Jimmie Jack began running the Kenai River at 13 years old
Awesome! We experienced another spectacular summer on the Kenai River. This year we were not only blessed with good fishing, but with sunny weather!
The highlights of the season were many. Adam, our youngest guide, caught the largest king salmon of the season at 68 pounds! Paul Deangelo will be making a skin mount which will be showcased in the lodge next year. Our cook, Kathy Kitts, caught a nice 40 pounder too. Rosy, my wife, landed a summer rookie record - 8 kings! Big Jim still proved to be the guide to find all the big fish again this season. I think Adam was with him when he locked down his record too. Sheesh!
Silver salmon season has been a basket full of limits since August 1st. We were challenged with super high water in the beginning of August, but the water remained clear, and we found some interesting spots that produced a lot of fish. Sometimes the silver fishing can seem to easy with our new techniques, and knowledge combined with more and more silvers every year. Catdaddy (Dave) is so good at whacking silvers that he goes out and gets his own after almost every charter.
The Rainbow fishery is always excellent right now. We will be fishing through September!
Praise the Lord! Thank you all so much for your support over the years. Check back and visit us at www.JimmieJackFishing.com regularly to see the videos and photos we took this summer.
